Useful beats fancy

I do not need a clothing listing to sound like a department-store ad. I need it to tell somebody what they are getting. This patterned blouse is one of my own photos, and it is a good example of why a few checked details help more than a long paragraph full of compliments.

Build the title from facts

My title formula is brand + item type + labeled size + color or useful feature. If the size or brand has not been checked, leave that part out until it has. A placeholder for this photo would be ‘Pink and Purple Patterned Button-Front Blouse.’ That describes visible features without guessing the fabric, fit, or size.

Write four short sentences

Tell the buyer what the item is, what the tag says, what condition you found, and which measurements you can provide. Here is a fill-in template: ‘I’m selling my [item]. The tag reads [brand and size]. I found [specific wear or condition details]. The [measurement] is approximately [number] measured [method].’ Replace every bracket with something you actually checked before publishing a sales listing.

Do a condition check before saying excellent

Look over the front and back, closures, seams, and care tag. Note stains, loose threads, fading, repairs, or missing parts you find. Avoid ‘perfect’ or ‘like new’ just because the photo looks good at a glance. A short, specific description is more helpful than a confident guess.

Use search words somebody would actually type

Blouse, button-front, short sleeve, and the confirmed brand or size can help explain an item. Unrelated popular brands do not belong in the title. I would keep keywords tied to the garment so somebody clicking the listing sees what they expected.

Answer fit questions with measurements

Labeled sizes vary between brands and styles. If you provide measurements, state whether the item was flat and where the tape started and ended. Let buyers compare those numbers with something they already own instead of promising that it will fit them.

Save your template

Keep the structure in a note on your phone. Each new item still needs its own facts, but you do not need to invent a new writing style every time. That is the kind of small shortcut I like: less typing, clearer information, and more time to finish the rest of the batch.
