Today’s Scripture
“He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” — Micah 6:8, KJV
A reflection for moms
It is easy to measure a day by how much was finished, how calmly everyone behaved, or how polished the home looked. Micah 6:8 brings us back to something deeper and simpler: do what is right, love mercy, and walk humbly with God. That can happen in a very ordinary kitchen, car line, workplace, or conversation.
Justice may look like telling the truth and treating each child fairly, even when their needs are different. Mercy may look like a patient correction, an apology, or giving another person room to begin again. Humility may look like asking God for help and admitting that we cannot carry every task alone. None of these requires a perfect schedule.
Today’s kingdom work is not about making every moment impressive. It is about staying close to God while we choose the next faithful response. We can care for our homes and families without turning productivity into our worth.
One practical kingdom-work action
Choose one conversation today and carry Micah 6:8 into it. Before speaking, pause and ask: Is this truthful and fair? Is there room for mercy? Am I willing to listen and admit what I do not know? If you need to repair something, offer a clear apology without adding an excuse.
A prayer for moms
Lord, teach us to do what is right, love mercy, and walk humbly with You today. Help us speak truth with gentleness, correct without humiliating, and apologize when we are wrong. Give us wisdom for the needs in front of us and freedom from trying to look perfect. Let our ordinary choices show Your love in our homes. In Jesus’ name, amen.
