“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28, KJV
Jesus does not wait for us to finish the list before He offers rest. He speaks to people who are already laboring and already heavy laden. A mother may be carrying tasks that truly belong to her, responsibilities that can be shared, and expectations that never belonged to her at all. Kingdom work is not measured by how exhausted we become while trying to make a season perfect. Today, coming to Jesus may look like an honest prayer, one simplified plan, and one burden placed back into His hands.
One kingdom-work step today
Write down everything you are carrying for the coming week. Circle one responsibility that another capable person can own, cross out one optional expectation, and pray over what remains.
A prayer for moms
Lord Jesus, I come to You tired and heavy laden. Show me what is mine to carry, what can be shared, and what I need to release. Keep me from confusing exhaustion with faithfulness. Give me courage to simplify and grace to be present with the people in front of me. In Your name, amen.
Carry this with you: Rest is not a prize for making the holiday perfect; it is Christ’s invitation in the middle of the load.
