Ask God for Wisdom for Today’s Mothering
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” — James 1:5, KJV
Momma, wisdom is not the same as having every answer ready before the day begins. James invites us to ask God for wisdom when we lack it. That means we can come honestly—with the decision we are unsure about, the conversation we are dreading, or the ordinary responsibility that feels heavier than it should.
God’s invitation does not promise that every choice will become simple or that we will never need counsel. We can pray, read Scripture, seek wise support, and take the next faithful step with humility. We do not need to pretend to be certain in order to be loved by Him.
One kingdom-work action today
Choose one decision you are carrying. Write down what you know, what you still need to learn, and one wise person or reliable source you can ask. Pray for discernment, then take just the next step—not every step at once.
A prayer for moms
Father, You know the choices and responsibilities in front of each mom today. Give us wisdom that is honest, patient, and shaped by Your truth. Help us ask for counsel when we need it, stay gentle with ourselves and our children, and trust You with what we cannot yet see. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Carry this with you: I can ask God for wisdom and take one faithful step at a time.
