“And establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.” — Psalm 90:17, KJV

Motherhood holds work that must be repeated and work that disappears as soon as it is finished. Psalm 90 does not ask God to make the work impressive. It asks Him to establish it—to give lasting meaning to hands that keep serving in temporary places. The diaper changed, lunch packed, boundary held, ride given, prayer whispered, and apology offered may not be applauded. God can still use ordinary faithfulness to build something we cannot yet see.

One kingdom-work step today

Choose one task you usually rush through unseen. Before beginning, pray, “Lord, establish this work.” Then ask one capable family member to take ownership of another task you should not keep carrying alone.

A prayer for moms

Lord, establish the work of my hands today. Give meaning to the ordinary service nobody notices, and give me wisdom to share work that was never meant for one person. Keep me from measuring my worth by productivity or applause. Let our home be shaped by steady love, truth, and grace. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Carry this with you: God can establish ordinary work even when nobody else sees it happen.
